Queensland police are searching for a man they suspect may have links to the alleged murder of a man whose body was found at a Wide Bay property.
The victim was allegedly involved in a fight with three other men on Sunday and police believe a 38-year-old man may be able to help investigators.
The 43-year-old’s body was found on Monday below an embankment near Tin Can Bay Road, northeast of Gympie.
Detectives later charged a 36-year-old man with murder, assault occasioning bodily harm and wilful damage.
The accused man was earlier taken to Hervey Bay hospital after suffering a non-life-threatening stab wound to his abdomen.
A 45-year-old man is also in custody after he and the dead man allegedly fled the fight in Maryborough after being seriously injured.
Their ute was found abandoned after it was allegedly crashed into the front gate of a property not far from where the man’s body was found.
The man detectives want to speak to is about 180cm tall with a slim build, red hair and a red beard.
The man charged with murder faced Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody to reappear next week.
