A third person has appeared in court over the grisly death of a man whose body was found rotting in a wheelie bin.

Jamie Lee Tarraran, 23, appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with being an accessory after the fact and two counts of breaching bail.

Kym Mitchell’s decomposing body was discovered on Saturday night in a bin at a Yeronga unit complex after residents complained to police about a terrible smell.

Police allege Mr Mitchell was murdered on November 26, six days before his body was found.

No details about Tarraran’s involvement were read out in court and she was remanded in custody.

Earlier, Robert Louis Gibson, 38, who is one of two men charged with murdering Mr Mitchell, was not required to appear in the court.

No bail application was made and he was remanded in custody.

Adam John Charles Evans, 30, faced the same court on Monday and is also accused of murdering Mr Mitchell.

He was remanded in custody.

Evans lived at the property where Mr Mitchell’s body was found.

The dead man is understood to have been 61. He wasn’t a resident of the unit complex where his body was found, but lived nearby.

No details of the murder have been read out in court, but Detective Inspector Mark Thompson earlier described the discovery of the partially decomposed body as “horrific” for the officers involved.

A second woman, 27, was also interviewed by police but was released without charge.

Evans, Gibson and Tarraran will reappear in Brisbane Magistrate’s Court on January 21.
