December 4, 2018

A second man charged over the grisly murder of a man whose body was found rotting in a wheelie bin has had his matter mentioned in court.

Robert Louis Gibson, 38, was not required to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

He is charged with murdering Kym Mitchell on November 26 – six days before his body was found in a bin at a Yeronga apartment complex.

Adam John Charles Evans, 30, faced the same court on Monday and is also accused of murdering Mr Mitchell.

Evans lived at the property where Mr Mitchell’s body was found.

He is understood to have been 61 and lived near the Yeronga complex where his body was found on Saturday night.

Police earlier described the discovery of the partially decomposed body as “horrific” for the officers involved.

A 23-year-old woman is due to appear in court later on Tuesday, charged with being an accessory after the fact and two counts of breaching bail.

A second woman, 27, was also interviewed by police but was released without charge.

Evans and Gibson have both been remanded in custody to reappear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 21.
