The man charged with murder, following the Father’s Day shooting death of a 35-year-old man north of Brisbane, has been remanded in custody.

Justin Meale, 26, of Rothwell did not apply for bail at the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody following the death of Clinton Pollock on Sunday.

Mr Pollock was shot in the chest after getting into an argument with a group of men in the front yard of his Deception Bay home about 11.30pm on Sunday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Neighbours reported hearing screaming at the Thompson Street home around the time of the shooting.

“I woke my husband up because my kids woke up from the noise and we just heard a lot of screaming,” one woman told The Courier-Mail.

Meale was arrested on Monday afternoon over the shooting and also faces a string of drug-related charges.

A second man was also arrested overnight and is being interviewed by police.

He has not yet been charged.

Meale is due to reappear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court on November 6.

Police are still appealing for anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the area or incident to come forward.
