A woman has been charged with murder, arson and interfering with human remains after a woman’s body was found in a burnt-out home in October.
Emergency service personnel discovered Krystal Marshall’s remains after firefighters extinguished a blaze at a home near Adelaide on October 20, South Australian police said.
A 48-year-old man was charged on October 21 with Ms Marshall’s murder and arson and remains in custody.
Detective Superintendent Des Bray said the 38-year-old victim’s body was found in a bedroom.
“From what we understand, Krystal was most likely killed on the 19th and the house set on fire the following day,” he told reporters on Thursday.
“That bedroom and the interior of the house was extensively damaged by fire and smoke.”
Police on Thursday arrested and charged a 29-year-old woman over Ms Marshall’s death.
Investigators want to speak to a person who contacted Crime Stoppers soon after the alleged murder with specific knowledge about the incident.
Detectives also want to speak to two drivers whose cars were recorded on CCTV near the home when the incident is alleged to have occurred.
“All three of those people are important to the investigation,” Det Supt Bray said.
The woman was refused police bail and is scheduled to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court late on Thursday or Friday.
