A man’s body has been found at a property in Queensland’s Wide Bay area following an alleged stabbing incident involving two other men.

Police say the 43-year-old’s body was found about 10am on Monday below an embankment near Tin Can Bay Road, northeast of Gympie.

Investigators believe the deceased man may be linked to the alleged stabbing of another man in Maryborough on Sunday.

The alleged victim was taken to a Hervey Bay hospital.

Later, a white Ford ute linked to the stabbing crashed into the front gate of a property near to where the man’s body was found.

Police found it abandoned but later arrested a 45-year-old man linked to it near the crash site.

The dead man was found several hours later.

Police urge anyone with information or dashcam footage that may help with the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers.
