Three Victorians are expected to be fined for flouting the Northern Territory’s COVID-19 health restrictions after they allegedly fled quarantine during a work trip.
Two men, aged 28 and 41, and a woman, 25, were given the all-clear in early October to undertake two days of approved essential work in the Top End.
It came with the proviso the trio quarantined in Tennant Creek when not on the job but police say that didn’t happen.
“An investigation has found they clearly breached their requirements issued by the chief health officer.,” Acting Commander Shaun Gill said on Wednesday.
The infringement penalty for failing to abide by the chief health officer directions is $5056 for an individual and $25,280 for a business.
Police said they were in the process of issuing the group with infringement notices.
