A Queensland man accused of murdering his baby son after the child was found with a traumatic brain injury has faced court.

Ayden Jedd Bradshaw, 24, briefly appeared in Mackay Magistrates Court on Tuesday following the death of six-month-old Beau Frank Bradshaw.

Paramedics found the unresponsive child at an East Mackay home in June.

He was taken to Mackay Base Hospital before being transferred to Townsville Hospital, where he died two days later.

Police believe he was alive and well at Illawong Beach, also known as Far Beach, just hours earlier.

Detectives charged Bradshaw with murder and grievous bodily harm on Monday following a lengthy two-month investigation.

Prosecutors will allege Beau suffered a traumatic brain injury, as well as a number of other internal injuries.

There was no history of engagement between his family and the department of child safety before the baby’s death, Detective Acting Inspector Mick Searle has previously said.

Bradshaw did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody to reappear in the same court on October 28 for a committal mention.
