September 17, 2018

Detectives are continuing their search of the home of a woman whose bones were discovered at the base of the Kangaroo Point cliffs in inner Brisbane.

The remains were discovered by a passer-by last week in long grass near the popular riverside parkland area overlooking the city.

Police have not released the cause of the 37-year-old’s death and it’s not known how long her remains were in the bag.

The woman, who cannot be named for cultural reasons, had been missing since November 27 last year.

Detective Senior Sergeant Warren Gibbs says the man who found the bag may have known the woman.

“A lot of people around this location do know each other and do talk to each other,” he said.

The man and other people have been interviewed by police but no one is in custody.

Police have searched the woman’s home at Kangaroo Point, which is described as having fluid occupancy.

Investigators are calling for people who shot drone footage over the area in the past year to review it for suspicious activity.
