Brisbane cliff remains are human: police
Police say a bag of remains found at the foot of a cliff in Brisbane are human but they are yet to identify the victim.

A bag of human bones found at the base of Brisbane’s Kangaroo Point cliffs has prompted police to look into four missing persons cases.
A passer-by made the grizzly find on Monday in long grass near the popular riverside parkland area overlooking the city.
Detective Senior Sergeant Warren Gibbs said investigators were working to identify the remains, with four unresolved missing persons cases in the area in the past 12 months.
Det Snr Sgt Gibbs said it could take up to two weeks to determine how long the bones had been at the location and the cause of death.
Clothes were found in the bag and scattered about the scene, he said.
“All the items are being tested and it would be wrong of us to make some sort of judgment at this point,” he said.
“There’s a lot of foot traffic that goes through there, however, this area of grassland is slightly away from the road area where most people would travel,” he said.
He said officers were working to obtain CCTV footage from cameras around the crime scene.
“So if someone saw a person in that area, within the last 12 months even, it would be important for them to call Crime Stoppers and let us know.”
Det Snr Sgt Gibbs said he couldn’t detail personal items found in the bag, because there were “certain things in the investigation we need to withhold”.
