The Brisbane man accused of murdering a former American beauty queen missing for almost a year allegedly interfered with her corpse 10 months after she died.

US citizen Priscilla Brooten, 46, has not been seen since July last year.

Her ex-boyfriend Mark Sheridan Waden, 43, is accused of murdering the Zumba dance teacher at his Bracken Ridge home.

Court documents reveal Waden, a rideshare driver, allegedly murdered Ms Booten on July 7, 2018, while they were reportedly a couple.

Waden is also accused of interfering with her corpse at the address between May 1 and June 9, 2019.

Detectives charged Waden on Thursday after a week-long search of his Bracken Ridge home using an excavator and cadaver dogs.

Police reportedly began the search after a neighbour allegedly saw Waden digging at the property.

He appeared on Friday in Brisbane Magistrate’s Court and was remanded in custody to reappear in the same court on July 15.

Police have also released images of a vehicle of interest and are appealing for public assistance.

Anyone who remembers a white sedan towing a trailer travelling around the Strathpine area on May 6, 2019, is asked to contact police
