A man who allegedly threatened his boss with a gun at the end of a work day in the Northern Territory has been charged.

The 50-year-old was arrested last Thursday by police called to a business in Berrimah on Darwin’s outskirts about 6pm.

“Negotiators engaged with the offender, who was taken into custody around 9pm. Nobody was injured,” Detective Senior Sergeant Andrew Kren said after the man was taken into custody.

Officers did not initially find a firearm but a search the following day allegedly uncovered a weapon.

The man was later charged with a slew of offences, including threaten with firearm, using a firearm whilst unlicensed, possessing a firearm with altered identity marks, and unregistered firearm.

He was remanded in custody to appear in the NT Local Court in Darwin on July 18.
