Australian software company LiveTiles has announced it will team up with Microsoft, sending the tech firm’s shares soaring by more than 40 per cent.
Microsoft will rollout LiveTiles’ software, which allows people and organisations to build their own artificial intelligence programs which the company calls LiveTiles Bots.
The global giant is already in talks with several Fortune 500 companies to supply the bot-builder as an easy to use method of creating virtual assistants.
“Microsoft’s AI and Analytics group will promote LiveTiles Bots as a solution that demystifies AI technology and can be quickly deployed within its Azure platform to mid and large-sized organisations in the United States,” LiveTiles said in a statement on Thursday.
Shares in LiveTiles gained 9.5 cents, or 41.3 per cent, to 32.5 cents.
Melbourne-born LiveTiles is headquarted in New York, and has operations across the US, in London, Zurich, Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart, and recently struck a deal to build a headquarters and innovation centre in Geelong.
