Forensic experts are scouring a Rockhampton home after the discovery of two bodies with significant injuries in the central Queensland city.

January 29, 2019

Queensland police are treating the deaths of a man and woman found with significant injuries in a bedroom at Rockhampton as suspicious.

A crime scene was declared after the bodies were found at the Frenchville property about 9.30pm on Monday following a call to triple-zero.

Detective Senior Sergeant Luke Peachey said police are yet to formally identify the pair, who were found in the master bedroom of the Frenchville Road home.

“We still haven’t been able to remove bodies from that scene, so obviously it’s quite significant,” Det Peachey told reporters on Tuesday.

“At the moment we’re treating it as suspicious.”

Forensic experts are scouring the property, and homicide detectives have travelled from Brisbane to join the investigation.

“We’re currently taking statements from a number of witnesses and also neighbours,” Det Peachey said.

Police have not revealed the cause of death and would not say if firearms were involved.
