Slain Qld schoolgirl ‘knew too much’

A man who allegedly murdered a Brisbane school girl and left her decomposing body in a barrel talked about “knocking her” the day she died, a court has heard.

November 27, 2019

The body of a Brisbane schoolgirl was found rotting in a barrel soon after her alleged murderer told people he wanted to “knock her”, a Queensland court has heard.

Zlatko Sikorsky has been charged with murdering 16-year-old Larissa Beilby, torturing her, deprivation of liberty and interfering with a corpse between June 23 and 27 last year.

A committal hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence for his case to go to trial began at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

It heard from Scott George Thompson, one of Sikorsky’s former housemates.

“I knew he’d punched her in the face,” Mr Thompson told the court.

“I said ‘just drop her to hospital’ (but) he was saying he wanted to knock her.”

Mr Thompson said Sikorsky had dismissed this idea, and that he had claimed “she knows too much”.

The hearing will resume on Wednesday.
