ENGLISH CRICKET’S PROPOSED NEW 100-BALL CRICKET FORMATĀ
* A UK-based, eight-team professional tournament to be played in a five-week window in the middle of the English summer from year 2020.
* Each side faces 15 six-ball overs then a final 10-ball over – making it 20 balls shorter per innings than T20 matches.
* The proposal features aligned competitions for men’s and women’s teams.
* It’s designed to appeal to a younger audience and attract new fans to cricket.
* Southampton, Birmingham, Leeds, London, Manchester, Cardiff and Nottingham have been selected as venues for the tournament, with Lord’s and the Oval each playing host to a London-based team.
