Clive Palmer’s criminal charges for allegedly breaching the Corporations Act in relation to a timeshare scheme at Palmer Coolum Resort remain stalled.

The former federal MP is facing a charge of aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring the commission of an offence by another person.

It relates to an unfulfilled 2012 proposal to buy shares of another company that owned properties at Palmer’s troubled Coolum resort on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) alleges.

Palmer wasn’t present on Friday in Brisbane Magistrate’s Court where the matter was adjourned to December 13.

The court heard an appeal against an earlier Supreme Court decision dismissing a claim the charges are an abuse of process remains pending.

The billionaire businessman’s bail continues.
